Hi friends! Welcome to Decorate with Cait. When I was little I used to look forward to the day when my mom would decorate our house for the holidays. I always wanted to help her as she did her decorating. As I got older I couldn’t wait for the day when I had my own place to decorate. I would often decorate my room at my parents house for the holidays because I loved it so much and couldn’t wait for the day to do it myself.
Once I moved out to my first apartment, decorating for the holidays was something that always reminded me of my childhood. It is something I look forward to every year as the next holiday approaches. As the number of years of having my own place have increased so has my holiday decoration collection. My husband can certainly agree as the number of boxes of decorations now almost completely take up our basement storage area (oops!). Now that I am a new mom, my excitement and love for the holidays and holiday decorating is even more special.
Last year my husband had encouraged me to start sharing out my decorating ideas since he knew this was a passion of mine. So, I had started an Instagram and Tik Tok page. However, shortly after starting these pages, I got pregnant and well, the lack of energy didn’t help with trying to create new content. So these pages have been on a bit of a hiatus. However, this hiatus has allowed me to re-think what I want to do with those pages and how best to share out my content. With some encouragement and support from my wonderful husband I have decided to start a blog to better share my ideas. I will still keep these pages to work with my blog so please continue to follow along!
I plan to use this blog to share out home decorating ideas for all of the holidays, with a focus on decorating on a budget. Yes, there is fall and Christmas decorating, but I also believe in making my house festive throughout the year. There may even be some mom life and other lifestyle topics mixed in. We will see where this adventure goes.
So grab your favorite holiday mug, pour a cup of coffee, settle in and join me as I share my ideas that will help make your house festive!
