Hi Friends! Happy Wednesday! There seems to be a big debate right now on social media about when is the right time to decorate for Christmas. It seems like more and more people are decorating on November 1st and the rest are still waiting until after Thanksgiving. You are either a Christmas at midnight on Halloween or Christmas after Turkey Day person.

Well, I am neither. I am a decorate the weekend before Thanksgiving person. I am nowhere close to being ready to take down my fall decorations on November 1st and going straight to Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, Christmas is my favorite holiday and favorite season to decorate for, but it just seems so early on November 1st. I also don’t like to skip over a holiday so I want to make sure to give Thanksgiving some love (even if it doesn’t stay up through Thanksgiving).
So on November 1st, I will pack up all of my Halloween/spooky decorations, leave the regular fall decorations (all the pumpkins) and add in the few Thanksgiving items that I have and enjoy them for a few more weeks.
It is hard to believe that this weekend is already the weekend before Thanksgiving. So before I turn to Christmas mode, I wanted to share a little Thanksgiving Decor inspiration with you.
Here is a little tour of my house from Thanksgiving last year. I didn’t buy any new Thanksgiving decorations this year so it is very similar this year. Perhaps something to add to my notes list in my phone for 2024.
If you are looking for some new Thanksgiving decorations to add to your collection here are few inspiration items I have found:

- A cute throw pillow for your living room.
- Rattan is very popular right now and this turkey would look good on a living room shelf or possibly even in a dining room.
- This ceramic turkey that would look good on your dining room table.
- If you are looking for something other than turkey decorations, this cornucopia decoration would make a great centerpiece or end table decoration.
- I am a big fan of seasonal mugs. I love to start my day with a cup of coffee in a mug for that season. It can also be a very easy and affordable way to enjoy the season. These mugs may not be “on a budget” but I love them and could see myself having using them for cup of coffee while watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. If you are looking for mugs on a budget, Home Goods and Target typically have very good options and I have found many mugs there throughout the years. I also love looking on Etsy for seasonal mugs. These also may not be a deal, but I like to support small businesses where I can.
- And then my other favorite affordable and easy way to decorate for the holidays is to incorporate seasonal dish and hand towels in my kitchen. Here are few options I found and love: a. A French knot towel, b. turkey towel, and c. a pumpkin pie towel.
I hope this inspires you to enjoy decorating your house for Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful day friends!
